This is a blog especially dedicated to book lovers like me. These days, I have realized that books mean a lot. They can take your mind off from anything and can get you so into the story that your surroundings will transform. You are pulled into the book and sometimes the connection is so deep that you can't let go! If you have read almost all the books in your local library and desperately need something to read, try and look for this super short reader, which I think, is excellent for bookworms. :-)
THE MONSTROUS MEMOIRS OF A MIGHTY MCFEARLESS by AHMET ZAPPA
A stormy night in a spooky house in Rockinghorse Lane without any neighbors nearby is one of the scariest things you could ever imagine. That's what Minerva and Maxwell McFearless went through one night when their father went out to get a cake for their mother's death anniversary. And on that night, their entire lives change when Max discovers a secret passage in their library.
This passage leads them to a room full of battered weapons, gross skeletons, and a book called the Monstranomicon(likes to be called Ms. Monstranomicon) who holds secrets and facts about monsters, and has a deadly bite. Their father finally tells them that the McFearless family have been monsterminators( monster hunters) for thousands of years, and that they safeguard all the knowledge which is left about monsters and are the only line of people to destroy deadly monsters left.
Minerva's father is a monsterminator as well. Minerva and Max, who are so curious about the facts revealed to them, constantly ask their father to let them be monsterminators too. But he always keeps them away from the secret room(which is his study) and refuses to let them join him in his work.
But one day Max and Minerva finaly get the chance to become monsterminators when their father is captured by the monster king of evil, Zarmaglorg. The McFearless's hold a Bewilder Box, which holds one treasure that a monster would die for. All they have is Ms. Monstranomicon and a one eyed coyote called Mr. Devilstone to help them on their journey. How will the kids rescue their father and what will happen to the box? What evil monsters will they meet on their way? Read the book to find out more!
